Fendt is one of the main sponsors of Germany’s Best Farmer Innovation Prize which this year was awarded to 27-year old Matthias Augst from Helmenzen in the Westerwald.

Over 400 farmers entered the competition which carries a 10,000 Euro prize. The winner has to demonstrate a high degree of specialist skill, an open-minded approach and a spirit for innovation. Entrants are asked to complete a challenging questionnaire to test both their expert knowledge and the innovative nature of their business. From here, a shortlist of three farmers received visits from the judges in order for them to get a first-hand impression of the individuals and their business.

“When it finally came to judging, it remained a close-call right through to the end; each entrant was highly convincing with successful projects to match,” comments Hermann Merschroth, Vice-President and Spokesperson for the Fendt Management Board. “We are proud to be able to support the competition.”
