For more than 30 years, Fendt has been offering complete solutions for the entire ISU (industry, road construction and environment) sector in cooperation with renowned implement manufacturers. With Fendt, customers not only purchase a tractor, but also a powerful implement combination with which they can perform specialised tasks – perfectly and, most important of all, cost-effectively. Fendt also offers consultation for custom solutions. Whether for municipal or construction work, applications in the bio-energy sector or other specialty operations – Fendt has the ideal solution.
70 to 360 hp – stepless over the entire output range
The Vario tractors from Fendt meet the requirements for the ISU sector ideally. With infinitely variable speeds, power reserves can be utilised that are not available to synchromesh or power shift transmissions. With conventional transmissions, the tractor is always running one gear too high or low. With Vario, on the other hand, the tractor is always driving at the right working speed – from 20 metres per hour to 60 kilometres per hour – during all kinds of specialty work. The hidden power reserves in the steps between the gears are mobilised and enable power flow without interruptions. The Vario transmission achieves a considerably higher degree of efficiency than hydrostatic drives.
The intelligent engine-transmission management system enables top speeds at significantly lower engine speeds – the basis for lower fuel consumption.
Profitability is decisive
The increased efficiency of a Vario results from the fact that the engine is always operated at its economical optimum. According to neutral tests in mixed operations, up to six percent of working time and eight percent in fuel can be saved in the course of a year with stepless speed adjustment. Fuel costs are the largest cost factor over the entire service life of a tractor, with a share of up to 60 percent. These costs are almost twice as high as the actual purchase price of the tractor. The cost of fuel is therefore the decisive factor in cost leadership. Numerous neutral tests confirm Fendt’s impressive fuel-saving leadership. To allow drivers to keep an eye on fuel consumption at all times, all Fendt tractors are equipped with a fuel consumption indicator as standard.
In the ISU sector, overall profitability is optimised through the use of perfectly matched implement combinations. Fendt offers customers complete solutions for maximum performance with low operating costs.
High payload
High axle loads, which are standard on Fendt, enable high payloads for heavy implement combinations in non-agricultural applications. For example, tandem mowers can be mounted and operated without a problem. A low weight-power ratio, 35 kg/hp on the 415 Vario, optimises fuel consumption and permits high payloads.
Outstanding operating comfort
Perfect operating comfort is essential to allow customers to concentrate fully on their work. Using the Variocentre and the VariotronicTI Teach-in functions, drivers are always driving in the economically optimum range, while performing work perfectly – without signs of fatigue. TMS clearly simplifies work when using complex implements – drivers conveniently control the tractor with the driving pedal and their hands are free for operating the implements.
Ideal ride comfort – maximum driving safety
Fendt offers maximum ride comfort provided by the standard specification front axle suspension (200 and 300 Vario optional), the pneumatic cab suspension (400 and 700 Vario optional) and standard-equipped shock load stabilising. The decoupled exhaust system and special cab suspension, as well as the isolated engine compartment, ensure optimum sound-proofing.
The dual-circuit four-wheel braking system (900 Vario) and the Fendt Stability Control FSC (900 Vario) guarantee optimum safety. With these systems, Fendt offers ride comfort and safety on par with commercial vehicles.
Advantages over specialty machines
Regarding overall costs, tractors are clearly more economical than specialty machines and can also be used in many different kinds of applications. The degression of fixed costs is huge. Furthermore, if the tractor is authorised for road use, there are no expensive transport costs to pay. Even longer distances can be covered with lower costs per axle at maximum driving speed and low engine rpms.
The capabilities of Fendt high horsepower tractors are finding increasing use, in particular in civil engineering projects. They are valued for their high material handling capacity with dump trailers in difficult terrain, their excellent cross-country mobility, as well as their high PTO power in combination with the Vario transmission for recultivation and soil stabilisation operations.
High environmental standards
With the aid of the high-level external exhaust gas recirculation system AGRex, the recirculated exhaust from the combustion process is significantly optimised through cooling and exact metering. Despite the introduction of new emissions standards, a further reduction in fuel consumption was achieved.
Starting with the 1995 models, all Fendt tractors are also approved for RME biodiesel without restrictions. The standard Fendt warranty fully covers the use of rape methyl ester according to DIN EN 14214 (formerly DIN 51606) – neither alterations to the tractor nor additional insurance are required. The use of bio-hydraulic oil is also possible without limitations, since the oil supplies for the transmission and hydraulics are separate in all Fendt tractors.
Viewed globally in the long term, the use of energy carriers that are produced close to nature, such as rapeseed oil, leads to lower CO2 emissions than fossil oil. In view of the finite character of fossil resources, raw materials that can be produced agriculturally are gaining greater importance. Meeting this trend, Fendt is the first tractor manufacturer that offers a tractor powered by rapeseed oil, the 820 Variogreentec, directly from the assembly line. Fendt also guarantees the same warranty and goodwill services for the 820 Variogreentec as for diesel-powered vehicles – without requiring additional insurance.
Premium line of additional equipment
For professional applications, Fendt offers a high-quality line of additional equipment, such as the Fendt Cargo front loader, which is optimally adapted to Vario tractors. A high lift capacity of up to 2950 kg over the entire height and lifting heights that permit trouble-free loading of lorries are only two of numerous advantages.
For forced steering systems, the new low hitch system with a four-tonne vertical load (700, 800 and 900 Vario) and an adaptable connection is the optimum solution.
Fendt also offers customers individualised tyre options – starting from tyres for golf course maintenance, to heavy transport, up to special tyres for forestry applications.
Since, in addition to conventional operations, specialised applications are increasing in the professional sector, Fendt offers a full-function reversing driver station as an option for the 900 Vario range, to meet the requirements for demanding applications. That turns the 900 Vario into a two-way vehicle without compromises.
Third party equipment for almost any application
Not only proprietary equipment, but also equipment from renowned manufacturers is essential for optimum implement combinations. All
implements are tested extensively at Fendt, so that the components in the package are optimally matched to each other. Fendt already begins work with these partners in the development phase to ensure that customers are provided with the perfect solution for their specialised requirements.
Comprehensive service
In addition to individual customer demonstrations, Fendt also offers a comprehensive range of services to help achieve the best for each customer. From financing to service contracts to rental packages, Fendt has the right solutions for all special requirements.
